Role Details:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both preparing the accounts and payroll processing.

The role of the Assistant Accountant is a key role within our Finance Team, reporting directly to the Group Accountant & Business Analyst. You will be responsible for assisting the Group Management Accountant & Business Analyst and the Head Office Accountant in their roles in the following areas:

  • To prepare the management accounts for one international subsidiary of the Europlacer group.
  • Preparing the payroll of UK head office and 2 subsidiaries for submission to the payroll bureau, as well as compiling/posting payroll journals.

We are looking for an individual who is a friendly and collaborative team player, has strong communication & interpersonal skills and is hands-on and detail-oriented.

Key Responsibilities:

The preparation of management accounts for the Italian subsidiary which include, but are not limited to:

  • Day to day accounting administration, weekly payments, expense claim processing
  • Preparation of the month-end management pack, incl. Sales/Cost of Sales, profit & loss and balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset register, prepayments and accruals
  • VAT & Intrastat reporting
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Assist with reconciliations and other queries related to the subsidiary. The preparation of the payroll submission reports for the payroll outsourced company for 2 UK and 2 foreign subsidiaries (US and Italy) involves :
  • Employee data management, obtaining timesheet report for production & liaising with HR for specific information
  • Review and check payroll outsourced reports; prepare for approvals and final submission
  • Manage outsourced payroll portal
  • Payroll journal processing
  • Calculate interdepartmental labour costs cross charging for department head approval

Personal Capabilities:

Your skills and experience would include:

  • AAT Level 4 or equivalent
  • Payroll degree desirable or qualified by experience
  • Intermediate-Advanced Excel Skills (including using macros and Power Query)
  • Experience of using CSI Syteline (or other integrated system)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience of month end process
  • Able to manage multiple priorities under pressure

This position is based in Poole and is a part-time role working 25 hours per week; days and hours of the week to be negotiable.
